We’re working with a well-established, privately owned business in the outdoor products / manufacturing space to recruit a Head of Manufacturing for one of its key production operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to bring structure, accountability and momentum into a manufacturing environment. The operation has a solid product base and experienced team, but now needs stronger day-to-day leadership, better discipline, clearer processes and a more performance-led culture. This is a real opportunity to make a visible impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a manufacturing / production team on a day-to-day basis
- Improving standards, accountability and operational discipline
- Driving efficiencies, output and better ways of working
- Embedding clearer processes, expectations and team structure
- Working closely with senior leadership to modernise and strengthen the function
- Leading through change in a practical, credible way
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has led teams in a manufacturing, production, workshop or factory setting
- Is confident, assertive and comfortable setting standards
- Can improve performance without overcomplicating things
- Understands how to win credibility on the shop floor
- Brings a practical, hands-on approach to leadership and change
Experience in timber, construction products, joinery, sheds, fencing, garden buildings or similar would be useful, but it’s not essential. The key is strong operational leadership and people management.
