We are particularly interested in candidates from manufacturing, engineering, industrial, distribution, logistics, or other fast-paced operational environments who are accustomed to leading teams, managing priorities, and dealing with demanding customers.

The Role

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the business while helping to deliver strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and coordinating daily business operations to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Acting as a trusted deputy to the Managing Director, helping to implement business plans and drive performance.
  • Managing and developing teams across multiple functions, creating a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Building strong relationships with key customers, confidently handling escalations and resolving complex issues.
  • Monitoring operational and financial performance, ensuring processes, systems and controls are maintained.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and customer experience.
  • Taking ownership of operational challenges and making confident decisions in a fast-moving environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, logistics, distribution or another operationally focused environment.
  • A natural leader with the presence, gravitas and confidence to inspire teams and gain credibility at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer expectations with business objectives.
  • Experience dealing with demanding customers, difficult conversations and high-pressure situations.
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving skills and a bias towards action.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, motivate and challenge where required.
  • Ambitious, hands-on and willing to lead from the front.
