Are you a "Grade A" Business Developer looking for a career-defining move with capital equipment sales experience? Our client is an extremely well-established manufacturer of capital equipment for the food production sector. With remarkably low staff attrition, vacancies here are rare. However, following the appointment of a dynamic new leadership team, the company is entering a phase of significant ambition and change and is looking for a high-energy, entrepreneurial solution seller to help drive this new chapter of growth.

In Return, You Will Receive

  • £55,000 Basic Salary with a realistic £85,000 OTE.
  • 25 Days Annual Leave from Day One + Bank Holidays + Christmas Shutdown.
  • Above-average pension, Life Assurance, and Private Health cover.
  • High performance is rewarded with a blue-chip benefits package.

Why Join as the Business Development Manager, Capital Equipment?

This is not a role for a caretaker; it is a role for a business builder. While the position is 40% account management, your primary focus and DNA must be Business Development. You will sell high-value capital equipment solutions directly to end users (food manufacturers) and to third-party integrators. You will be supported by a highly skilled technical team, allowing you to focus on what you do best: opening doors, building pipelines, and closing deals. Join a very secure business with a start-up mentality regarding growth. We are looking for someone who wants to "run their own business within a business." With new leadership comes new opportunity; excel here, and the future path is wide open.

The Role of Business Development Manager, Capital Equipment

  • Managing a large pipeline and conducting a high volume of face-to-face meetings across the region.
  • Moving beyond price wars to sell on unique features, benefits, and ROI.
  • Explaining features and applications in technical demonstrations with confidence (supported by technical experts for the heavy lifting).
  • Utilising exceptional business acumen to gain market share and expand sales.

What is Required to Apply to the Role of Business Development Manager, Capital Equipment

  • Solution Salesperson with a "sponge-like" capacity to absorb complex product knowledge. You don't need to be an engineer, but you must be technically astute.
  • Proven track record in Capital Equipment Sales is essential. Experience selling into food production is a significant plus.
  • Unapologetically ambitious, motivated by earning potential, and genuinely driven to hunt for new business.
  • Fast-paced, accountable, "Challenger" salesperson who is grounded and cheerful.
  • Graduate calibre with strong CRM discipline and a history of exceeding targets.
  • Track record in capital equipment and hunger to drive new business.
