Job Purpose

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of electrical products across multiple Zephyr programmes. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will help generate and maintain the digital design record, collaborating closely with both internal teams and external manufacturing and installation partners. This is a dynamic role in a growing organisation, offering exposure to evolving programmes and complex, rewarding design challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Avionics and Systems Engineering teams in developing and maintaining the production design record for new concepts and design changes.
  • Produce detailed electrical design solutions using SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Select appropriate electrical components to satisfy schematic and system level requirements.
  • Act as a key contact for electrical design queries across engineering and production.
  • Provide hands‐on support to the build line in resolving emerging electrical issues.
  • Support and participate in design maturity gate reviews in accordance with AALTO's design processes.
  • Help manage design changes in line with configuration and change control processes.
  • Collaborate with Production and Procurement teams to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) considerations are addressed early in the lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Developing experience in aviation‐focused electrical design.
  • ONC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Must have experience and a good proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Experience working with PDM systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience in resolving emergent electrical issues and developing innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience translating system level requirements into complete design solutions.
