This position is based on site in Hull, United Kingdom. At AAK Hull, we operate the UK’s largest refinery for edible oils and fats at our King George Dock site and supply ingredients and finished products to businesses in the food manufacturing, baking, foodservice, and retail sectors. We enjoy working closely with customers to co-develop bespoke products in our well-equipped Customer Innovation Centre.
About The Role
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the aim of the role is to deliver the product of the right quality, at the right time, in the right quantity for the right cost in a safe and effective manner. This role will be part of our Foodservice department. The role will operate on a 3-shift pattern.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation and set-up of equipment, ensuring production activities are carried out in accordance with relevant SOPs and safe working procedures. You will also support the identification of line losses, maintenance activities, changeovers and Lean activity to help maintain effective production standards.
Working hours
This role is on a 3-shift pattern and alternates per week:
- Week 1: Sunday-Tuesday 7pm-7am
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday 7am-7pm and Wednesday, Thursday 7pm-7am
- Week 3: Wednesday-Friday 7am-7pm
Responsibilities
- The safe operation of equipment by participating in risk assessments for area of responsibility, keeping areas clean and tidy and ensuring that operations are carried out according to the relevant SOP’s and safe working procedures.
- The set-up and operation of the line to the correct standards through adherence to SOP’s, maintenance of line throughput’s to standards and ensuring general maintenance and hygiene standards of equipment are upheld.
- Completion of actions derived from the identification of line losses – to identify line losses, inform Area Shift Manager and identify improvements to equipment and participate in Lean activity.
- Adhere to relevant procedures to ensure successful completion of maintenance duties and changeovers.
About You
We are looking for candidates that have the following experience/skills:
- Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment.
- Previous experience of 5S would be desirable.
- Effective communication skills.
- Effective planning and organisational skills.
- Experience within a similar role.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
