About the role
AAK is seeking an Engineering Stores Person who will be responsible for managing inventory of engineering materials, tools and equipment, ensuring all necessary supplies are available for the engineering team to maintain and repair machinery efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Inventory Management and Stock Control: Identify critical spares and classify them as high, medium, or low moves. Manage obsolescent stock and ensure timely disposals. Use the CMMS inventory system to track stock value and conduct audits. Arrange location optimization within CMMS for cost‑effective spare parts. Maintain stock control systems to monitor inventory levels and movements.
- Receiving and Dispatching: Receive incoming materials, inspect for quality and quantity, and store correctly. Prepare and dispatch materials, parts, and machinery for returns and repairs.
- Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. Resolve any supply issues and maintain a keen eye for supplier relationships.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Store and handle all materials in accordance with health and safety regulations. Maintain a well‑maintained and managed store environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.
- Support Engineering Team: Assist with locating and retrieving materials and tools for the engineering team. Source and order spares for stock, maintenance, and project purposes. Utilise CMMS systems and track performance through reporting. Demonstrate excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and schedules efficiently.
About you
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Previous stores or stock control experience.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
- Experience within an FMCG background is advantageous.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in inventory management or logistics are a plus.
