Currently looking for someone to carry out Source Inspection at our supplier site in Wolverhampton. This will involve single-day visits every 90 days.
The quality inspector will travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Inspections will be conducted according to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer via a web application.
Requirements:
- Practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies.
- Experience performing inspections according to ANSI Y14.5 - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and purchase orders.
- Experience using mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard.
- Minimum of five years' experience in aerospace or military/defence manufacturing inspections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
