AAC Clyde Space is seeking a Test Engineer to join our production team, supporting the verification and delivery of high‑quality spacecraft hardware. In this role, you will conduct tests and report on results for electronic assemblies and spacecraft systems, ensuring hardware is delivered safely and meets required standards, budgets, and project timescales. This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys supporting test campaigns, analysing results, and communicating progress and status to stakeholders. You will collaborate with Design Engineers to test and debug new and existing designs, verify that hardware meets customer requirements, and produce clear, concise test reports with recommended actions. The role is full‑time and based on site. Please note a Basic Disclosure check may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support activities with spacecraft assembly and safely deliver hardware for projects to expected standards, budget and timescales.
  • Engage with Project Manager and project reviews to ensure test schedules align with project timescales.
  • Produce and communicate with relevant stakeholders regarding progress and status of hardware under test.
  • Support Design Engineers with testing and debugging both current and new designs.
  • Verify spacecraft hardware meets customer requirements.
  • Collate, review and write reports for test results with recommended actions.
  • Work to company standards relating to Quality Management System and other quality processes mandated by the customer.

Skills Required

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Competence in electrical and electronic engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and PCB layout to debug hardware.
  • Electrical expertise applied to product range such as battery packs, power systems, DC‑DC converters.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment.
  • Experience following test and evaluation plans.
  • Capability and willingness to write effective test and evaluation plans.
  • Application of test methodology to debug issues.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Good analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
  • Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Decision making under demanding, dynamic environments.
  • Organisation of self and prioritisation of workload across multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft software.
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written.

Skills Desired

  • Knowledge of coding software (Python/C++ etc).
  • Previous experience in the space industry.
  • Previous experience working with small/medium sized companies.
