AAC Clyde Space is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team in Glasgow, providing day‑to‑day support in financial operations and projects. This role offers broad exposure to finance within a project‑driven, global SME and a foundation for progression within accounting and finance. The role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely transactional finance support, executing core financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and supporting project financial tracking and the month‑end close. It is predominantly on‑site and may require occasional out‑of‑hours work to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy, correct coding, and timely approval
- Process employee expenses and supplier payments
- Maintain supplier and customer master data, including verified bank details
- Raise sales invoices, post cash receipts, reconcile customer accounts, and support credit control
- Support bank allocations, control account reconciliations, and monitor cash flow positions
- Monitor finance inboxes/workflows, logging and resolving queries within agreed timescales
- Manage timesheet coordination, tracking weekly/monthly timesheets from all staff
- Review timesheets for accuracy, ensuring correct project codes, hours, and descriptions
- Maintain the timesheet system—set up new users and project codes, configure approval workflows
- Compare actual hours recorded against forecasted/budgeted hours for specific projects or departments
- MRP housekeeping: review open sales orders in the MRP system, close completed ones, and review and close purchase orders
Skills Required
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role with a good understanding of end‑to‑end transaction processing
- Good working knowledge of double‑entry bookkeeping and basic financial controls
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail and excellent communication
- Familiarity with MRP/Finance software (e.g., Sage 50)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations) and finance systems/ERPs
- High standards of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial and personal data
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, comfortable with multiple concurrent workstreams and tight deadlines
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
- Proficient in English, both verbally and written

- Previous experience working with a small/medium sized company
