We are looking for an AOCS Engineer to join our busy Engineering team to support a diverse range of activities to deliver on our projects and missions. The role suits someone with an estimation and control background and offers responsibility, development opportunities and the chance to work on projects that literally end up in space. Hybrid working is possible and a Basic Disclosure check will be required.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver work tasks and assignments in accordance with required standards and compliance requirements.
- Perform design, modelling, implementation and testing of attitude and orbit control systems for nano and small satellites.
- Collaborate with the Software Engineering team to transition algorithm designs to functional code and validate implementation against models.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering to define technical requirements and mission analysis and AOCS scenarios for analysis.
- Perform on-orbit commissioning activities for newly launched spacecraft and communicate directly with the client team.
- Analyse test results from each spacecraft and perform hands-on testing on flight hardware.
- Support business development activities by collaborating with potential clients to elicit technical requirements and assess feasibility for proposals.
- Relevant degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient user of MATLAB and Simulink.
- Excellent technical writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Structured and methodical analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities capable of bridging technical and programmatic discussions.
- High attention to detail with consistent documentation practices.
- Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams with a shared sense of mission success.
- Ownership of complex challenges and resolution with integrity and professionalism.
- Proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement and learning.

- Experience working on spacecraft AOCS.
- Experience debugging issues on AOCS hardware and/or software.
- Experience with Python and Embedded C.
- Previous experience working with small/medium sized companies.
- Previous experience in the space industry.
