The Head of AI will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI capabilities across AAB. This is a hands‑on technology leadership role responsible for building and operating the Group's AI platform, embedding AI‑driven automation into core business processes, and ensuring AI solutions are delivered securely and effectively at scale. This is not a role focused on experimentation or proof‑of‑concepts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of deploying production‑grade AI solutions and agentic systems that deliver tangible business outcomes.

AI Platform & Architecture

  • Build and operate AAB's AI platform and supporting architecture.
  • Design and deploy scalable AI solutions leveraging modern AI technologies, including multi‑model environments, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), fine‑tuning, and agentic frameworks.
  • Define technical standards, deployment approaches and governance frameworks for AI across the Group.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities to support future platform development.

Agentic Systems & Automation

  • Design and deploy agentic systems into live business workflows.
  • Drive the automation of complex, judgement‑heavy business processes.
  • Lead the delivery of AI solutions from concept through to production deployment.
  • Ensure AI solutions are scalable, reliable and capable of operating effectively within live environments.

Governance, Risk & Evaluation

  • Establish frameworks for AI evaluation, monitoring and secure release management.
  • Design for AI failure modes, operational risk and system resilience.
  • Ensure AI solutions are deployed responsibly and aligned with organisational risk requirements.
  • Develop appropriate controls, testing approaches and governance processes to support production deployment at scale.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant experience designing, building and deploying AI solutions into production environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI‑led automation beyond proof‑of‑concept stage.
  • Experience designing and deploying agentic systems within live operational workflows.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI architectures, tooling and deployment practices.
  • Experience working with Azure AI services and/or open‑weight model ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of AI evaluation, governance, operational risk and model performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and deliver complex AI initiatives from architecture through deployment.
