Role Purpose
- Take ownership of all cash collection activities via telephone, email and letter
- Chase payments in a proactive and professional manner
- Prioritise calls to maximise collection on largest and oldest debts
- Maintain diary with next step actions
- Liaise with clients to resolve disputes and negotiate payment plans as appropriate
- Build relationships with Business Units to ensure queries are resolved promptly and accounts placed on hold in line with company policy
- Maintain up to date contact details and accurate records of communications with clients
Experience & Qualifications
- The role requires a commercially minded individual who has an enthusiastic and professional approach to cash collection.
- Proven experience in a credit control role (service sector experience desirable)
- The ability to manage a large and varied debtor ledger
- Excellent time management, organisational skills and the ability to self‑manage
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal
- Proficient in the use of IT systems including Excel
- Experience of the legal system advantageous
