What you will do:
- Educates and instructs students trying to obtain their driving license in the safe operation of motor vehicles in an on-the-road setting. Maintains an awareness of various students learning styles and adjusts instruction appropriately.
- Provides instruction in a patient, calm, and personable manner to reduce student anxiety and enhance the learning experience. For on-the-road settings; observes students driving ability; provides instruction in safe driving techniques in both highway and urban driving conditions. Ensures the safety of the student(s) is maintained at all times during on-the-road instructional sessions.
- Ensures driving school vehicles are clean and presentable according to Club guidelines; removes snow, ice, and other debris from vehicles prior to each use. Performs vehicle inspections and safety checks prior to the operation of the vehicle. May be required to drive vehicle to nearby Fleet center, car wash, or another automotive facility for preventative maintenance or repair.
- Assists in driving school with various administrative tasks. Drive students to road tests and Registry for licenses. Adheres to all department policies and procedures, including accurate recording of student hours.
- May provide training and guidance to new driving instructors/trainees. Provides training feedback to both the supervisor and the employee.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Associate\’s Degree preferred
- Less than 1 year Driving instructor/trainee experience required
- 1-3 years Prior Teaching Experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license Required
- Current State Driving Instruction Certificate, or ability to obtain certification post training within 30 Days Required
- Ability to meet Club insurance requirements, motor vehicle and other pre-employment guidelines Required
