Our client is a top, growing proprietary trading firm seeking an experienced, execution-focused options market-maker trader to join a growing trading desk in London. The desk has more than 20 quantitative traders, researchers and developers that are running a wide variety of strategies 24 hours a day.
Position Overview:
This role is based on a rates trading desk with exposure to both Euribor and SOFR options. While the primary focus is on these instruments, the client is flexible regarding the asset class, provided the candidate brings solid experience in options market-making and is confident executing trades via both voice and electronic platforms. Please note, the client is only accepting submissions from candidates who have experience working at a recognised options market-making trading firm, and will NOT consider applications from candidates that have only worked only at investment banks or other types of companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute options trades both electronically and via voice.
- Independently manage trading risk and make informed positioning decisions.
- Manage risk and positioning decisions during London trading hours.
- Work closely with the broader trading and research team to shape strategies and improve desk performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 3–7 years of hands-on options market-making experience, ideally gained at a top-tier trading or market-making firm.
- Deep understanding of execution processes and market structure both via voice and electronically.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with fellow traders, quantitative researchers, and technologists.
- Proven ability to foster and maintain productive professional relationships.
- An analytical mindset with a keen interest in leveraging data and quantitative tools to enhance trading strategies.
- Team-oriented with a high level of drive and initiative.
- Based in London or open to relocating there (visa sponsorship can be provided).
