Overview

Based in Aberdeen, this Business Development Manager opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of a leading subsea services business.

Working closely with the UK Managing Director and wider Commercial team, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and supporting growth across both UK and international markets.

This is a highly visible and commercially focused position, centred on expanding market presence while strengthening relationships with existing clients.

The role requires close collaboration with Tendering, Engineering and Project teams, combining strategic thinking with a hands‑on approach to deliver sustainable business growth and long‑term customer value.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the subsea, offshore energy, and defence sectors.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long‑term client relationships, serving as a trusted partner and primary point of contact.
  • Collaborating with Tendering, Engineering, and Project teams to support the preparation of proposals and tenders.
  • Monitoring market activity, industry trends, and competitor developments to identify opportunities and inform strategic decision‑making.
  • Developing and implementing effective business development and sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Representing the company at client meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and exhibitions.
  • Maintaining an active pipeline of opportunities and providing regular commercial updates to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Proven business development experience within the subsea, offshore, marine, energy, or related sectors.
  • A demonstrable track record of winning new business and fostering strong client relationships.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of objectives.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support business development activities.
