An established and values-driven care provider is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Service Manager to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. About the Role
As Registered Service Manager, you will oversee the quality, compliance, and operational performance of services within your area. You will work closely with operational teams to drive continuous improvement, embed best practice, and ensure services consistently meet and exceed regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coaching and mentoring teams, conducting audits and service assessments, and implementing robust improvement plans that positively impact the people supported. This role offers the opportunity to initially join on a temporary contract with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage quality and compliance across services
- Conduct internal audits, observations, and service assessments
- Develop and implement service improvement plans with clear objectives and outcomes
- Support services in achieving and maintaining high CQC standards
- Promote person-centred approaches and best practice across teams
- Coach, mentor, and support managers and staff to improve service delivery
- Challenge poor practice and implement effective interventions where required
- Work collaboratively with operational management teams to drive continuous improvement
- Support training and development initiatives in partnership with Learning & Development teams
- Interpret and apply contractual, legislative, and regulatory requirements effectively
About You
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ operational management or leadership experience within social care
- Experience conducting audits and translating findings into actionable service plans
- Strong understanding of CQC standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience coaching and mentoring teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make confident decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to challenge practice constructively
- Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
Desirable:
- Experience delivering staff training and development sessions
- Experience writing reports for senior leadership teams
- Knowledge of regulatory notifications and monitoring processes
