AA Euro Group are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a contractor working on Substation projects in Kent, seeking both permanent and self-employed positions. Previous experience working on Substations or Battery storage Facilities is essential for this position.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience delivering infrastructure, utility, energy, or power projects.
  • Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical infrastructure and substation delivery.
  • Strong understanding of civil, electrical, and utility infrastructure works.
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
  • Knowledge of UK construction regulations, CDM requirements, and health & safety legislation.
  • Experience coordinating with DNOs, ICPs, utility providers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
  • Experience managing project programmes, risk registers, and reporting processes.
  • SMSTS certification required.
  • CSCS Card required.
  • Membership of CIOB, ICE, IET, or equivalent professional body desirable.

  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Chair project progress meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management and clients.
  • Coordinate with DNOs, ICPs, utility providers, and statutory authorities.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues during project delivery.
  • Oversee quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, reporting, and handover records are maintained.
  • Drive programme performance to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
