Live-in Carer (Rehabilitation Support) – Hull Start Date: ASAP Rotation: Initially 1 week on / 1 week off (moving to 2 on / 2 off) Pay: £1,560 per week + £50 food allowance + up to £50 travel expenses Contract: Permanent, Zero Hours We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate live-in carer to support a young woman returning home after sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2024. She is currently undergoing rehabilitation  and will be returning to her home in Hull in June. This is not a traditional personal care role — it’s a rehabilitation-focused position, supporting a highly independent client as she readjusts to daily life in a wheelchair. What’s Involved: Support-focused care — client manages her own bowel and bladder care and transfers independently Assist and encourage safe independence with household tasks (e.g. laundry, shopping, cooking, cleaning) Provide emotional support and structure during her adjustment at home Pet care – assist with feeding, walking, and helping the client adapt to caring for her friendly small bulldog as a wheelchair user Accompany client to therapy appointments (OT, Physio, Psychology) or be present during home visits Be flexible with working hours to respond to the evolving needs of the client as she settles back into home life The Ideal Candidate: Driver – full manual licence preferred  Well-kept and presentable Dog lover – comfortable supporting the client with her pet Kind, mature, proactive and encouraging – knows when to step in and when to let the client lead Additional Details: Rotation: 1 week on / 1 week off initially (could progress to 2 weeks on / 2 off) Contract: Permanent employment on a zero hours basis Accommodation: Fully furnished private bedroom in the client\’s home  Household: Only the client and her dog live in the home Vehicle: To be provided This is a truly rewarding role for someone who values connection, independence-building, and making a real impact in someone’s life.
