AA Euro Group is currently seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor to join a leading contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced H&S professional to play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across all site activities.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.
- Support site management teams with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety briefings.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies where required.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external health and safety audits.
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential).
- Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Supervisor or Advisor on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background within heavy civil engineering, steel erection, reinforced concrete (RC) frame, earthworks, or similar sectors.
- Good understanding of UK health and safety legislation and construction best practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with site teams and subcontractors.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects.
- Temporary Works or lifting operations awareness.
- CSCS card (relevant H&S qualification).
- First Aid at Work qualification.
