AA Euro Group are seeking a motivated and experienced Development Project Manager to join a leading renewables company based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team driving the development of large-scale renewable energy projects across Northern Ireland. This role will strongly suit someone with large Wind Sector experience in particular.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the process of securing planning consents and amendments.
- Ensure planning compliance throughout the pre-construction phase.
- Oversee all planning studies, including EIA, visuals, and consultant management.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders (landowners, planners, politicians, consultants, utilities, local authorities).
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Senior Management, Renewables Development & O&M Teams, Corporate Development, and Regulation.
- Conduct resource assessments and contribute to technology selection and site layout optimisation.
- Engage in commercial negotiations with stakeholders and project counterparties.
- Oversee risk and opportunity management across multiple projects.
- Provide input to regulatory consultations and lobbying activities.
- Develop and manage project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Lead project reporting and resourcing as needed.
- Support the due diligence of acquisition opportunities.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of the renewables industry, particularly large-scale project development.
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and teams (including consultants/contractors).
- Working knowledge of the Northern Ireland planning process.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience managing projects through development and construction phases.
- Skilled in community consultation and engagement.
- Understanding of property agreements relevant to project development.
- Familiarity with renewables construction contracts.
- Knowledge of grid connection agreements.
