AA Euro Group are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a specialist civil engineering contractor delivering major critical infrastructure works across the Birmingham and Coventry region. The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of complex civil packages, supporting site operations, managing engineering activities, and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established contractor involved in high‑profile infrastructure projects across sectors including energy, utilities, substations, industrial, and mission critical developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all engineering activities across assigned project areas.
- Provide technical support to site teams and subcontractors.
- Interpret and review drawings, specifications, and design information.
- Ensure setting out and surveying activities are completed accurately.
- Oversee quality control procedures and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and review RAMS, ITPs, and engineering documentation.
- Support project planning, sequencing, and programme management.
- Liaise with design teams, clients, subcontractors, and site management.
- Monitor progress and report on engineering and site performance.
- Identify and resolve technical issues efficiently to avoid delays.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with health & safety regulations and company standards.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and site staff where required.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Senior Engineer role within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Earthworks
- Drainage
- Reinforced concrete works
- Utilities
- Roads and infrastructure packages
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience on substation, energy, water, or data centre infrastructure projects.
- Temporary works coordination exposure.
- Familiarity with GPS surveying equipment and engineering software.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification advantageous.
