  • Monitor the quality of care being delivered and ensure appropriate quality assurance systems are in place.
  • Review and challenge internal audits, monitoring reports and service improvement plans.
  • Provide leadership and support around Ofsted registration, inspections and ongoing regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure children's welfare remains at the centre of all decision-making.
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with the management team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide appropriate challenge, support and accountability to the operational management team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Responsible Individual within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential setting, or significant senior management experience within children's residential care.
  • Strong understanding of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted's Quality Standards.

  • Experience supporting Registered Managers and children's residential services.
  • Strong understanding of care planning, risk management and positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience overseeing EBD or complex children's residential services would be highly advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable due to the locations of the services.

What's on Offer

  • £400–£550 per day, on a self-employed basis.
  • Approximately 2 days per week, offering flexibility around existing commitments.
  • Responsibility for two children's residential services across Hoddesdon and Broxbourne.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in the development and governance of a growing children's care provider.
  • A varied RI position covering both a 4-bed EBD home and a specialist 1-bed solo placement service.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the quality of care and outcomes for children and young people.
