As a Lead Mentor Facilitator, you'll be at the heart of an inspiring and dynamic learning environment.

You will have the opportunity to equip and empower students by delivering highly effective sessions that are in line with the vision and goals of AA Educates.

With your experience, expertise and passion for helping the next generation you’ll support the students to build their confidence, develop essential skills for success beyond school, and achieve their personal and academic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Session Preparation and Facilitation/Delivery
  • Work with other Lead Mentor facilitators to ensure the preparation and delivery of effective and interactive face-to-face sessions for groups of up to 30 students
  • Create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment that enables students to thrive
  • Prepare for sessions in advance, using provided materials or creating additional resources as needed
  • Tailor session content to suit the needs and skill levels of the students
  • Ensure adherence to schools’ behaviour and conduct policies
  • Manage Behaviour positively and effectively
  • Supporting Students through Mentorship
  • Offer tailored guidance and support to students as a group and on an individual level
  • Understand the needs and personality of each student and encourage active participation to help foster a positive learning experience
  • Identify the academic and professional goals of each student and continually identify ways to help each student achieve them
  • Monitoring Progress
  • Keep track of student attendance and punctuality
  • Monitor student progress in line with programme outcomes and goals
  • Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to encourage continual development
  • Work collaboratively with the AA Educates wider team to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes
  • Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improving our programmes and sessions
  • Collaborate with partner Lead Mentor facilitators to identify challenges students may be facing individually or as a group and share them with wider AA Educates team/School for additional support
  • Complete end of program reports for AA Educates and Partner Schools
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, inclusion, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person without delay.
  • Work within the parameters of the school’s behaviour and conduct policies
  • Maintain professionalism and uphold the values of AA Educates at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with students and schools, fostering trust and mutual respect.
  • Be proactive in contributing and supporting the vision and mission of AA Educates

Our aim is to give you the resources and confidence to be able to run your own sessions in an engaging and inspiring way.

If successful, you will be invited to observe colleagues leading a session.

You will receive all the resources and training materials necessary for you to be able to lead effective sessions yourself.

In your first session, a member of the AAEducates central team will be on hand to support you.

Subsequent quality assurance and personal development observations will take place regularly.

Ongoing support, training and development will be provided through both face to face and online meetings and events.

  • Personal Specification and Experience
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge on how to practically achieve high standards of behaviour and pupil well-being
  • Adaptable and flexible to the demands of good facilitation
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build rapport and inspire others
  • A track record of effective teaching/facilitating for young people
  • A track record of securing excellent outcomes
  • Strong understanding of best practice in Teaching and Learning (T&L)
  • Experience in classroom behavioural management
  • (Enhanced) DBS check required
  • Previous experience in mentoring or facilitating
  • Experience in assessing and evaluating student progress
  • Experience in classroom behavioural management
  • Pay and Working Schedule
  • £30 per hour
  • As this in a freelance role, you will be expected to submit monthly invoices (note: you will be responsible for meeting your tax commitments)
  • Days and working hours to be confirmed during interview and are subject to programme delivery dates agreed with AA Educates and partner school(s)
