AA Educates is on a mission to transform the futures of young people from underserved communities through mentoring, skills development and career pathways. As we scale our impact, we are seeking a Chair of Trustees to help lead us through this phase of growth.

What difference will you make?

As a trustee with experience in scaling organisations, you will help ensure AA Educates can grow its programmes with confidence and maximise its impact on young people from underserved communities. This year, we are expanding our partnerships and developing new initiatives, and our trustees will play a central role in shaping strategy, overseeing growth, and guiding our organisational vision to ensure sustainable, meaningful outcomes.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a trustee who is passionate about education and social impact and has experience in scaling organisations or managing growth and transformation. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, governance expertise, and experience in organisational development, helping guide AA Educates through its next phase of expansion. We welcome individuals with lived experience of underserved communities, as this perspective is invaluable in shaping programmes that truly meet the needs of the young people we support. Experience in change management, fundraising, or building partnerships would be particularly beneficial, but we value a mix of skills and perspectives that will strengthen our board.

Our trustees are collaborative, proactive, and committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people through thoughtful oversight and active engagement.

What will you be doing?

As a trustee, you’ll have an essential role in shaping the future direction of AA Educates and making a real difference to the lives of young people from underserved communities. This year, we’re preparing to make key decisions around scaling our programmes, expanding partnerships, and developing new initiatives, and the board will be leading that change. The organisation is in an exciting position to grow its impact, but resources must be managed carefully to ensure both existing and new programmes thrive. We’re looking for trustees with experience in organisations that have undergone significant growth, transformation, or restructuring. Experience in change management would be a strong advantage. We hope the next three years will see AA Educates expand its reach, strengthen its programmes, and create lasting impact for the young people we support. Our board works closely with the senior management team and prides itself on being friendly, collaborative, and hands-on. We also have sub-committees that provide guidance on strategy, marketing, and digital innovation, so there are opportunities for trustees with specific expertise to get actively involved in areas that match their skills and passions.
