Are you an experienced laser cutting professional ready to step into a leadership role?
We're looking for a hands-on Laser Department Team Leader to drive performance, quality, and team development within a busy manufacturing environment.
The Role As Laser Team Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the laser cutting department.
You'll lead a team of operators, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a key role where you'll act as the link between shop floor operations and management, keeping production moving and standards high.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, motivating, and supporting a team of laser operators
- Allocating work and ensuring jobs are completed on time
- Monitoring machine utilisation and production performance
- Supporting operators with technical issues and problem-solving
- Ensuring first-off inspections and quality checks are completed
- Promoting a strong health & safety culture, including PPE and 5S standards
- Liaising with Planning, CAD, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch teams
- Driving continuous improvement, reducing waste and downtime
What We're Looking For
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
- Proven experience in a laser cutting / fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and production processes
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience
- Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organisational ability
- A strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Desirable
- Experience with Trumpf/Bystronic or Amada laser machines
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
