The Role

We are recruiting for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Leeds. This is a maintenance-focused role supporting production machinery, with opportunities to contribute to improvement and automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fault finding, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on production equipment
  • Support extrusion and conversion machinery to ensure minimal downtime
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Maintain and update electrical schematics and documentation
  • Work closely with mechanical teams to improve machine performance
  • Assist with electrical projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support PLC-based control system modifications and troubleshooting
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety standards

Equipment & Environment

  • Extrusion and conversion machinery
  • Industrial manufacturing environment
  • PLC-controlled systems (experience desirable)

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • On-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) covering out-of-hours and weekends

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an electrical maintenance role within manufacturing
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with PLCs and electrical schematics
  • Good mechanical awareness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous supervisory experience advantageous
