Our client is a heavy engineering machine shop with a lifting capacity of up to 60 tonnes, working on large fabrications, castings, and heavy engineering components. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their current machining team across both manual and CNC disciplines, with the following vacancies currently available:
- Manual Turner
- Manual Miller
- CNC Miller
- CNC Turner
CNC machines operate on Fanuc controls, with the opportunity to carry out offline programming using CIMCO software. Both day shift and night shift positions are available, with the night shift paid at a premium rate including a shift allowance. Regular overtime is also available for those looking to increase their earnings.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and (for CNC roles) program machines directly from engineering drawings
- Work on large fabrications, castings, and heavy engineering components within a 60-tonne lifting capacity facility
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings accurately
- Carry out self-inspection of finished parts using manual measuring equipment
- Maintain quality, efficiency, and safety standards across day or night shift operations
- For CNC positions: create and edit programs at the machine, with offline programming using CIMCO software advantageous

Proven experience operating manual lathes within a heavy engineering environment
Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
Experience with large fabrications, castings, and heavy components beneficial - Manual Miller
