Salary: £32,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)

Hours: 7:00am - 16:00pm Monday to Thursday & 7:00am - 12:00pm Fridays

About the Role

We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing team, working on the mechanical assembly of specialist industrial machinery, including nibblers, sifters and related equipment. You'll play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer specifications are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical assembly of machines in line with the factory production plan
  • Inspect in-house and bought-in components to ensure they meet required specification and quality
  • Lay out and examine metal stock/work pieces to confirm specifications are correct
  • Position, align and fit components to form complete units and subunits, following engineering drawings and layout specifications
  • Verify conformance of work pieces using vibration meters, temperature probes, earth continuity meters, squares, rulers and measuring tapes
  • Complete all documentation accurately
  • Provide occasional training/support to less experienced operators
  • Support continuous improvement and the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management system, including internal audits, NCRs, OFIs and customer complaints
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment, reporting any safety concerns promptly
  • Attend production and Health & Safety meetings as required
  • Occasional site work as required

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £32,000 (dependent on experience; more available for an outstanding candidate)
  • Overtime: x1.5 Monday-Friday, x1.5 Saturday, x2 Sunday and Bank Holidays
  • Early finish at 12:00pm every Friday
  • Private medical cover (Bupa), with the option to add immediate family for a fee
  • Pension scheme: 5% employer contribution, 3% employee contribution
  • Death in service cover: 3x salary
  • Company bonus scheme: 5% of company profit shared evenly across all staff
