About the Role
We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing team, working on the mechanical assembly of specialist industrial machinery, including nibblers, sifters and related equipment. You'll play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer specifications are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical assembly of machines in line with the factory production plan
- Inspect in-house and bought-in components to ensure they meet required specification and quality
- Lay out and examine metal stock/work pieces to confirm specifications are correct
- Position, align and fit components to form complete units and subunits, following engineering drawings and layout specifications
- Verify conformance of work pieces using vibration meters, temperature probes, earth continuity meters, squares, rulers and measuring tapes
- Complete all documentation accurately
- Provide occasional training/support to less experienced operators
- Support continuous improvement and the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management system, including internal audits, NCRs, OFIs and customer complaints
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment, reporting any safety concerns promptly
- Attend production and Health & Safety meetings as required
- Occasional site work as required

Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £32,000 (dependent on experience more available for an outstanding candidate)
- Overtime: x1.5 Monday-Friday, x1.5 Saturday, x2 Sunday and Bank Holidays
- Early finish at 12:00pm every Friday
- Private medical cover (Bupa), with the option to add immediate family for a fee
- Pension scheme: 5% employer contribution, 3% employee contribution
- Death in service cover: 3x salary
