£32,000 (negotiable for the right candidate) Hours:
7:00am - 16:00pm Monday to Thursday & 7:00am - 12:00pm Fridays
About the Role We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing team, working on the mechanical assembly of specialist industrial machinery, including nibblers, sifters and related equipment. You'll play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer specifications are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical assembly of machines in line with the factory production plan Inspect in-house and bought-in components to ensure they meet required specification and quality Lay out and examine metal stock/work pieces to confirm specifications are correct Position, align and fit components to form complete units and subunits, following engineering drawings and layout specifications Verify conformance of work pieces using vibration meters, temperature probes, earth continuity meters, squares, rulers and measuring tapes Complete all documentation accurately Provide occasional training/support to less experienced operators Support continuous improvement and the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management system, including internal audits, NCRs, OFIs and customer complaints Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment, reporting any safety concerns promptly Attend production and Health & Safety meetings as required Occasional site work as required
