We're looking for a skilled Quality Inspector to join our Quality team, reporting to the Quality Manager. You'll play a key role in ensuring every product leaving our facility meets specification using both CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) technology and conventional metrology equipment to inspect, measure, and verify components at every stage of production, in line with our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out incoming, in-process, first-off, patrol, and final inspections against engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Operating the CMM to measure complex geometries and verify critical dimensions and tolerances, including running and developing CMM programs.
  • Using calibrated equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Accurately recording inspection results and maintaining traceable records, including CMM results and First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Identifying and segregating nonconforming product, raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and supporting root cause and corrective action.
  • Working closely with Production and Engineering to resolve drawing or tolerance issues and support first-off inspections.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement helping reduce variation and improve repeatability across inspection processes.
  • Approving or rejecting product based on inspection outcomes, with the authority to stop release when requirements aren't met.

What We're Looking For:

  • Fully time-served engineer with a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • CMM operation and programming experience.
  • Proficient with manual measuring equipment (micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise written reports.
  • Comfortable working to both company and customer quality plans.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 inspection requirements.

Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 07:45am - 17:00pm
Friday: 07:45am - 10:45am
Overtime - overtime payments will be made 8 hours paid at time and a half anything after will be paid at double time.
