We are recruiting an experienced Process Design Engineer on a contract basis to support the delivery of hygienic process design projects within regulated manufacturing environments. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong EDG/EHEDG hygienic design knowledge and proven experience in vessel, plant, and hygienic pipework design. You will be involved from concept through detailed design and into project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design hygienic process systems in line with EDHEG/EHEDG, GMP, and industry standards
- Design storage, pressure, mixing, and blending vessels, plus process skids and hygienic equipment
- Produce and support PFDs and P&IDs
- Specify hygienic pumps, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, and CIP systems
- Develop plant and hygienic pipework layouts (drainability, zoning, cleanability, access)
- Produce 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Review supplier and subcontractor drawings
- Support design reviews, HAZOPs, and site activities through installation and commissioning
Experience Needed
- Proven experience in hygienic process design within food, beverage, cosmetic, or chemical sectors
- Strong working knowledge of EDG/EHEDG hygienic design principles
- Vessel, plant layout, and hygienic pipework design experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of fabrication, installation, and instrumentation requirements
