We are looking for a Design Engineer to join a very successful business based in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. You will be joining an experienced engineering team, where you will be able to see your designs take shape in their high-quality production environment.
The Job:
- To assist in the design of customer conveying projects, this will include but not limited to, site surveys, equipment design, production manufacture.
- To ensure the production process is efficiently utilised by the active pursuit of cost reduction in both materials and labour.
Key Responsibilities
- To design & produce detailed drawings using 3D SolidWorks & 2D AutoCAD.
- Preparation of workshop, layout and installation drawings.
- Preparation and supply of installation documentation.
- Purchase and control of project outsourced items.
- Liaise with customers, vendors and other third parties.
- Assist the production team in the fabrication & assembly of manufactured items.
- Assess cost and methods of work for efficiency improvements throughout the production process.
The Person
- Familiarity with fabrication, welding, and assembly in a production environment.
- Apprentice trained Mechanical Engineer.
- 2 years experience in the use of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to undertake detailed site surveys.
- Excellent organisational, oral and written communication skills.
This is an office-based position.
Salary β GBP40,000 per year.
