JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Building Safety Project Manager to lead high-impact remediation and building safety projects within a residential property portfolio. As Building Safety Project Manager you will manage construction projects from inception to completion, including cladding remediation works, contractor management, budget control and stakeholder engagement, ensuring compliance with health and safety and CDM regulations. The successful Building Safety Project Manager will bring experience from housing, construction or similar built environment sectors, with a strong understanding of fire and building safety, enabling the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes for residents.

DUTIES

  • Project Delivery: Manage remediation and building safety projects from planning through to completion
  • Contractor Management: Oversee consultants and contractors, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities and value for money
  • Programme Coordination: Maintain delivery schedules, attend site meetings and ensure projects remain on track
  • Budget Control: Manage project budgets, expenditure, valuations and contract administration
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, CDM regulations and building safety requirements
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships with internal teams, residents and external partners
  • Resident Communication: Lead on engagement activities including meetings, updates and forums
  • Reporting: Produce clear and timely reports tailored to stakeholders
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records and utilise IT systems effectively
  • Issue Resolution: Respond to customer queries and complaints to a high standard

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience delivering building safety, remediation or construction projects
  • A background in housing, construction or a similar built environment
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and CDM compliance
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, contracts and cash flow
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and residents
  • Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, databases and reporting tools

DESIRABLE

  • Qualification in construction, engineering or a related discipline (HNC/HND or higher)
  • Professional membership (e.g. RICS, IFE, IFSM) or willingness to work towards
  • Experience working on occupied residential buildings
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites within the M25 (covering London and the South)
