A Kitchen Assistant is required to support food preparation, meal service, kitchen cleaning, stock rotation and safe catering operations within a welcoming resident-focused environment.

Previous roles in catering or hospitality are welcome, including Catering Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Food Service Assistant, General Catering Assistant, Catering Team Member, Kitchen Team Member, Food Preparation Assistant, Hospitality Assistant, Dining Room Assistant, Kitchen Operative.

Salary: £13.45 per hour + benefits

Location: Stanwell, Surrey (TW19)

Job Type & Hours: Part-Time, Permanent. Working hours: 8 hours, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00–14:00.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining health and safety food regulations
  • Preparing and serving food and cleaning the kitchen
  • Setting up the service area for breakfast, lunch and evening meals
  • Cleaning the dining room, kitchen, storerooms and outside storage area
  • Checking in goods for quality control and packing goods away on delivery
  • Assisting the chef with the daily running of the service
  • Supporting the Chef Manager with deliveries, stock rotation and removing any out-of-date items
  • Communicating when products are running low

Candidate Requirements:

  • Ability to follow instructions from the Chef Manager and Catering Manager
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable engaging with elderly and vulnerable customers and their families in a caring and respectful way
  • Confident using computers for online training and basic systems
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to working well as part of a team

Desirable: Previous experience working in a kitchen environment
