Job Overview
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Interim Marketing Communications Manager to join a well-established communications function within a large and complex organisation. This role plays a key part in shaping and delivering marketing and customer communications programmes. As an Interim Marketing Communications Manager you will lead multi-channel communications projects, ensuring customers receive clear, consistent and accessible information at every touchpoint. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, providing expert communications advice and influencing best practice. The Interim Marketing Communications Manager will also support the leadership of the wider communications team, deputising when required and contributing to crisis communications, business continuity activity and continuous improvement across marketing communications.
Duties
- Marketing Communications Strategy: Contributing to and leading marketing and customer communications strategies, projects, policies and procedures
- Programme Delivery: Managing and delivering marketing communications programmes and campaigns across multiple channels and touchpoints
- Performance Monitoring: Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on communications activity and outcomes
- Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and providing expert communications advice
- Brand Management: Championing brand integrity, tone of voice, corporate identity and house style
- Agency Management: Managing procurement processes and relationships with creative agencies and suppliers
- Project Leadership: Planning and delivering high-quality communications using the full marketing mix within agreed budgets
- Accessibility: Ensuring communications meet accessibility standards including Plain English and alternative formats
- Operational Communications: Supporting both business-as-usual and change communications linked to transformation activity
- Team Leadership: Supporting the management of the communications team and deputising when required
Candidate Requirements
- A relevant professional qualification in communications or equivalent experience
- Significant experience delivering marketing and customer communications programmes within a large organisation
- Proven project and programme management experience across multiple stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading ability
- Experience of brand management and maintaining tone of voice and corporate identity
- Ability to manage agencies, suppliers and multiple projects simultaneously
