We’re looking for a Portfolio Options Assessor to join our Asset Strategy team. In this role, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Business Simplification Programme helping the organisation refocus on its core purpose and charitable objectives, while balancing long-term financial sustainability with the delivery of meaningful social value. You’ll evaluate the performance of our housing portfolio, providing robust, data-driven insights to inform key decisions around investment, reinvestment, redevelopment, and disposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed property performance assessments, including financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Undertake options appraisals for individual properties and portfolios, considering financial return, sustainability, and resident impact.
  • Analyse data from multiple sources, including internal systems and external market intelligence.
  • Support the development and ongoing improvement of the Asset Appraisal Model (AAM).
  • Prepare clear, concise reports on asset performance and recommendations for intervention.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Finance, Development, and Property Services to align asset strategies with wider business objectives.
  • Support governance processes for disposals, reinvestment, and investment decisions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment.
  • Attend key meetings and workshops, contributing to programme delivery.

More about you:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in asset management, real estate, housing, or a related field.
  • Membership (or working towards) a professional body such as RICS, CIOB, or CIH.
  • Experience analysing property performance, financial modelling, or asset data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify trends.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly.
  • Understanding of Value for Money principles within regulated sectors, ideally including familiarity with the housing sector’s VFM Standard and Code of Practice.
  • Knowledge of social housing, asset management principles, and relevant regulations.
  • Understanding of sustainability and building safety considerations (desirable).
