Join A2Dominion’s Domestic Abuse Service as a Flexible Support Officer, where you will play a vital part in delivering life‑changing support across refuge settings, outreach services and our helpline. This is a varied and meaningful role where no two days are the same. You’ll empower clients to regain independence, safety and confidence, and you’ll work alongside dedicated professionals who share your commitment to making a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing tailored, high‑quality support to clients in refuge, places of safety and outreach settings
- Responding to enquiries via the Domestic Abuse Service helpline
- Managing referrals and completing needs assessments
- Offering guidance on tenancy responsibilities, financial obligations and available support
- Creating, reviewing and delivering Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments
- Facilitating structured group sessions based on client need
- Advocating for clients and liaising with agencies including Police, health professionals and partner organisations
- Supporting clients to move on to safe, suitable accommodation
- Maintaining accurate, timely case notes and safeguarding documentation
- Contributing to MARAC, MATAC and relevant safeguarding meetings
- Supporting the organisation’s DAHA accreditation process
- Representing and promoting the Domestic Abuse Service both internally and externally
- Handling client complaints in line with policy and undertaking investigations where required
More About You
- Someone who combines empathy with resilience, and professionalism with compassion
- At least one year’s experience in frontline work with victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car
