This is an exciting opportunity to join our Care and Support Team within a supported housing setting. You’ll be working alongside other Intensive Housing Management Workers to manage the health and safety of the building and to safeguard the clients who live here by answering clients' enquiries and providing reactive support to those in crisis in the absence of the main support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure health & safety checks are carried out according to policies and procedures, keeping voids to a minimum.
- Follow safeguarding policies.
- Perform reception duties: answering phones, coordinating transport, updating appointment books, signing visitors and keys in and out.
- Process voids and report/follow up on repairs.
- Engage with external partners to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
- Complete reporting documents.
- Work with the support team and housing officer to address breaches of client licenses, aiming to prevent evictions and promote tenancy sustainment.
- Report to the Senior IHMW regarding any safety concerns about the building, staff, or residents.
- Provide emotional support empathetically, offering guidance within job role boundaries.
About You
No specific sector experience is necessary; transferable skills and a caring attitude are valued. Key skills include:
- Basic MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, remaining calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with problem-solving skills.
- Experience in homelessness, substance misuse, or mental health is preferred but not required.
