Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Asset Data and Information Specialist. This critical role supports the optimisation and management of asset data systems within the organisation, contributing to the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of asset data to meet both operational and strategic objectives.
The role involves maintaining a comprehensive asset data library, managing data structures, and supporting analytics processes that drive decision-making and compliance with regulatory frameworks, including the Decent Homes Standard (DHS) and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
It would be highly desirable for candidates to have experience working with asset data in a Housing Association, Local Authority, or other Social Housing context, particularly where accurate property information, regulatory compliance, and effective data management are essential to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the configuration, maintenance, and performance of asset data management systems to ensure they meet organisational needs
- Oversee and support the implementation of system upgrades, migrations, and integrations to enhance capabilities and efficiency
- Maintain an organised and accessible asset data library, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness
- Establish, maintain, and enforce standards for data structure, classification, and documentation to ensure integrity and accessibility
- Contribute to the strategic design and management of analytics frameworks to generate actionable insights from asset data
- Produce accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant reports related to DHS, HHSRS, and component-level investment requirements
- Monitor compliance with industry standards, providing recommendations and solutions to address gaps
- Collaborate with the Asset Data and Systems Manager and Asset Data Analysts to align with team objectives and foster a high-performance, collaborative environment
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand asset data requirements and ensure alignment with organisational priorities
- Act as a key contact for data-related enquiries, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration
- Support the identification and implementation of best practices in data governance and analytics

More About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a degree or equivalent qualification in data management, asset management, or a related discipline, or can demonstrate relevant experience
- Has strong knowledge of asset management software, databases, and information management frameworks
- Is familiar with regulatory standards such as the Decent Homes Standard (DHS) and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- Demonstrates proficiency in data analytics methodologies and tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Possesses excellent data management skills, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency
- Is capable of effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders
- Holds a high attention to detail when managing large datasets and regulatory reporting
- Has technical skills in asset management systems and database management, with experience in both cloud and on-premises systems
- Is experienced in managing data system projects, including implementation, upgrades, and integrations
- Understands project management methodologies for system implementations, upgrades, and successful integrations
- Is familiar with risk identification and mitigation related to asset data systems
- Supports best practices in data governance and analytics to improve accuracy, efficiency, and usability
