Our client is looking for an Experienced CNC Machinist who has proven experience of milling and turning using Fanuc controls.
Some programming and setting experience will also be required.
To programme, set and prove out components requiring manufacture on high/low volume CNC machines ensuring the highest quality standard by following set operating instructions and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce components whether it be a one off to a large batch to a high and precise specification and accuracy;
- Program and set CNC machinery and order appropriate tooling that may be required to complete scheduled jobs;
- Tool and fixture making that may be required for any large volume components;
- General machine maintenance;
- Perform self-first off and final inspection of yours and other staffs manufactured components;
- Working on manual machines as and when required and urgency dictates;
- General cleaning, sorting and tidying of the machine shop;
- Sort and rack ordered in material into the correct location of the material rack;
- Create change request forms for any alteration/additions to components being made;
- Fix/repair any damaged or ill-fitting components from other departments;
- General bench fitting activities;
- Cleaning out and stripping down machines after use;
- Assembly and packing of finished components;
- Preparation of components for welding, plating or painting;
- Assisting the stores on delivery of the raw material.;
- Ad-hoc tasks for line manager as require;
- Take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and any other persons who may be affected by your acts. Experience and Skills
- Experience of Milling and Turning, including some Programming and Setting using Fanuc controls is essential.
- Experience and knowledge of Sliding Head Lathes, programming & setting using Fanuc would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Ability to understand and follow technical drawing;
- Good time management with the ability to prioritise workload to achieve deadline;
- Good knowledge of dimensional measurement & control;
- Good knowledge of different types and grades of raw material;
- Good attention to detail;
- Competitive based on experience Working Days and Hours: 39 hours per week, 08:00 to 16:30 Mon-Thurs, 08:00 to 15:30 Friday. An earlier start/finish can be arranged if preferred
