Our client is a pan-European book printer and distributor with 17 manufacturing sites based within the UK, France, Germany, and Spain. They work in numerous markets including Trade, academic and educational markets delivering school books and books on demand. The business is growing, and they are looking for energetic, creative, innovative team players to join us.
PAY RATE
The rate of pay for this role is £14.15 per hour (£28,203.21 per annum). Upon successful completion of the training period, the rate of pay will increase to £14.90 per hour (£29,698.08 per annum).
ROLE OBJECTIVES
- Assist the Production Manager to drive improvement of Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensure the shift is working to Service Level Agreements (SLA) expectations and in the correct sequence.
- Show leadership by setting an example and assisting in allocating resources efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the Company.
- Manage staff fairly and consistently; to reward or address and correct irregular conduct, behaviour or process.
- Assist the Production Manager in the delivery of Health & Safety Policy and Practices, through personal involvement and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Follow the planned maintenance programmes.
- Ensure good standards of housekeeping of the factory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Eden / Fusion report checking.
- Daily safety checks are undertaken and all forms are completed in a timely manner.
- Monitoring that all staff are wearing the correct PPE.
- Ensure staff are trained to the required quality standards. Following the process for raising a request for further training for staff where required.
- Reporting and raising tickets for machine breakdowns and quality issues using the breakdown procedure.
- Capture and report units/metres produced. Oldest WIP SLA.
- Expected shift performance 4600 units per day.
- Ensure handovers between shifts are carried out in a timely manner with accurate information.
- Administer absence and sickness records and reporting to Production Manager and HR where necessary.
- Maintaining up to date rotas on a week plus one basis.
- Undertake Inductions and training schedules.
- Take on general duties as the site develops.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Accountable to: Production Manager. Location: Bognor Regis site working on our rotating Treble shift pattern (6:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, and 22:00-06:00). Full time: 38.33 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Candidates may be required to work outside of these hours, when necessary, especially in busy periods. The candidates must have both factory and supervisory experience. Due to the location of the site and the shift patterns, a driving licence and their own transport to site would be preferable.
