A24 is seeking a dynamic lawyer to join the Legal and Business team in London, reporting to the Commercial Director and collaborating with the creative, production, finance and distribution teams in the group.

Core Responsibilities

  • Working on day-to-day legal and business affairs matters arising in connection with the development, production, financing and distribution of A24 and affiliated productions.
  • Negotiating, drafting and concluding a range of agreements relating to UK development, production and exploitation (e.g. agreements with commissioners, distributors, financiers, talent, advisors, contributors, locations, facilities, suppliers and access agreements).
  • Providing advice and support on all programme-related legal and business affairs activities including clearance, negative checking, rights licensing and general contracting.
  • Ensuring that production activities are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all relevant territories and with the company’s corporate compliance policies and best practice procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A qualified lawyer with minimum 4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Expertise in scripted television and/or feature film.
  • Hands-on experience with the types of deals, agreements and unions encountered in the role.
  • Exposure to advising or working with creative talent, broadcasters, distributors and producers on intellectual property issues.
  • In-house experience preferred.
