At A2Dominion, we’re a housing association with a clear social purpose: providing safe, affordable homes and quality services for our residents.
We have an opportunity for a People Partner to operate in a business-facing role, influencing how teams perform and how work is delivered day to day. You will be part of a developing People Partnering model, with the opportunity to shape how it operates, improve consistency and add real value to the business.
About the role:
This is a business-facing role working directly with managers to improve team performance and support consistent, effective service delivery. Operating within a regulated, process-driven environment, the focus is on ensuring people practices are applied properly, issues are identified early, and managers are supported to deliver day-to-day operations effectively.
You will operate as an extension of your business area, building a strong understanding of how it works, where challenges sit and what needs to improve. You will combine strong relationships with data and insights to identify trends, manage risk, and support managers in making informed, consistent decisions. The role is focused on improving how people practices are applied in reality, not just maintaining the process.
Key responsibilities:
- Build strong, credible relationships with managers and teams, operating as a trusted partner within your business area.
- Develop a clear understanding of performance, risks and priorities, using this to inform where focus is needed.
- Deliver and embed people plans developed in partnership with Strategic People Business Partners, aligned to business needs and service requirements.
- Analyse people data (e.g. absence, turnover, ER trends) to identify patterns, risks and opportunities.
- Take early, proactive action to address issues before they escalate, within appropriate frameworks.
- Lead and support employee relations activity, ensuring a consistent and practical approach to case management, escalating complex or systemic risk where appropriate.
- Build manager capability, increasing confidence and reducing reliance on People Services over time.
- Support organisational change activity, including restructures, consultations and TUPE.
- Maintain and improve the consistency and quality of people practices through effective application, coaching and local assurance across your area.
- Identify and implement improvements to processes and ways of working.
- Feed insight and intelligence into the wider People Services function to inform broader decision-making.
You will bring:
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
- Employment law qualification (desirable).
- Experience in a People/HR generalist or Business Partnering role within a complex organisation.
- Strong working knowledge of employee relations and employment legislation, with the ability to apply this in practice.
- Experience supporting managers through a range of people issues, including performance, absence, disciplinaries and grievances.
- A proactive and curious approach, with the ability to look beyond presenting issues and identify underlying causes.
- Experience analysing and interpreting people data to inform decisions and actions.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Confidence in coaching and constructively challenging managers.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
