We are looking for a skilled Sheet Metal Worker with strong TIG welding experience to join our client's team in Basildon. You'll be working with stainless steel to produce precision components and assemblies.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Set up and operate a range of tools and machinery, including welding equipment, CNC machines, guillotines, and brake presses.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine materials and job requirements.
- Choose appropriate gauges and sheet metal types based on product needs.
- Accurately measure, mark, and lay out materials following detailed instructions.
- Shape, cut, bend, roll, and form metal parts using various techniques.
- Drill and punch holes for fasteners such as screws, bolts, and rivets.
- Inspect components for accuracy before assembly.
- Assemble structures using MIG and TIG welding, bolting, or riveting.
- Finish products by grinding and polishing to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Maintain awareness of production deadlines and work efficiently.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and correct use of PPE.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong TIG welding skills.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC machinery and general fabrication tools.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
