Duties and Responsibilities – Vehicle Mechanic
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair used vehicles to ensure they meet safety and roadworthiness standards.
- Perform routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, tire replacement, and fluid top-ups.
- Conduct pre-sale vehicle inspections to ensure cars are in good mechanical condition before being sold.
- Identify mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Carry out vehicle preparation and servicing before customer delivery.
- Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure issues have been resolved.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Work with the sales team to ensure vehicles are ready for display and customer handover.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and workshop standards.
- Keep the workshop clean and organized and maintain tools and equipment properly.
- Provide advice to management on vehicle condition and required repairs for trade-in or purchased vehicles.
