About The Role
The A1 Group is a family run business specialising in Scrap Metal, Car Spares, Loo Hire and Wet Waste and Staysure Tyres. We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to become part of our dedicated team around the Wokingham area.
Role & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles
- Routine Maintenance to DVSA standards
- Vehicle Inspections to DVSA
- Fault Finding Repairs & Servicing of Commercial Vehicles and Trailers
- MOT Preparation to DVSA Standards
- Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
- Prepare, present and accompany all fleet vehicles including trailers, other than exempt categories, for annual MOT inspections
- To maintain work areas in a safe and clean condition
- To develop and maintain a harmonious, effective working environment with team members within all areas
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and well under pressure with a calm, methodical and safe approach. We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual with a passion for trucks to join our commercial workshop team. Working on our own vehicles this is a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
Requirements For Fleet Technician HGV
- HGV motor vehicle technician background
- Attained the appropriate City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC qualifications
- Minimum of Class 2 License (C)
- Hydraulics experience is desirable
- Welding and forklift experience is desirable
