Configuration Management Support Engineer (Contract)
Location: Yeovil, UK (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: £23 per hour
Contract Length: 6 months (with strong potential to extend – requirement forecast for at least 12 months)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (some flexibility available)
Working Pattern: Hybrid working available once trained and comfortable in the role (approximately 3 days onsite / 2 days remote, flexible for the successful candidate). Initial training period is expected to take up to 3 months and will be primarily onsite.
Mandatory Requirements
- Candidates must be able to successfully complete Full BPSS screening, including:
- Proof of Legal Right to Work in the UK
- UK DBS (Criminal Records Check)
- Drugs Screening
About the Role
You will report directly to the Senior Engineering Supervisor based in Yeovil and support the REACH Obsolescence Programme by providing intermediate-level Configuration Management support. This role has day-to-day responsibility for configuration activities that impact wider engineering and customer teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote robust configuration management processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve configuration-related issues
- Provide guidance and support to engineering teams on configuration management best practices
- Ensure changes to product configurations are properly documented, controlled, and communicated to both internal and external customers
- Process design data releases and engineering changes
- Create and revise Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs)
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of EBOM data during transition from PLM systems to SAP

- IT Skills: Confident using Microsoft Office and similar software tools
