The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a well-established and highly regarded legal practice.
Our client is looking for a knowledgeable, motivated and commercially aware legal professional with 5+ years' PQE to join a successful Private Client team specialising in Wills, Probate, Trusts and Estate Planning.
This position offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload of private client matters while playing an important role in the continued development of the department.
For more experienced candidates, there is also the potential to take on a senior position with additional leadership responsibilities, making this an attractive opportunity for those looking to progress their careers.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for independently managing a varied caseload of private client matters, including:
- Wills and Estate Planning – drafting Wills and advising clients on succession planning and protecting their assets.
- Lasting Powers of Attorney – preparing and advising on LPAs and related matters.
- Probate and Estate Administration – managing estate administration matters, including more complex estates.
- Trusts and Tax Planning – advising on inheritance tax planning, trust structures and trust administration.
- Court of Protection – assisting clients with applications and matters relating to mental capacity and financial affairs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior members of the team.
- Assist with the supervision, mentoring and development of colleagues.
- Deliver clear, practical and professional advice to clients, including those with complex financial and family circumstances.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, professional contacts and referral partners.
- Contribute to the continued growth and strategic development of the Private Client department.
- Participate in business development, networking and marketing activities.
- Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new instructions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of client care and service.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive status.
- A minimum of 5 years' PQE in Private Client law.
- Strong experience managing an independent caseload covering Wills, Probate, Trusts and Estate Planning.
- Excellent technical knowledge, particularly in complex estate administration and inheritance tax planning.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior fee earners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
- A commercially aware and proactive approach to business development.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
