We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Newly Qualified Civil Litigation Solicitor to join our established and high-performing litigation team. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of civil disputes, providing high-quality legal advice while developing their expertise under the guidance of senior solicitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters under supervision, including property-related disputes and debt recovery.
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare advice notes for clients and senior colleagues.
  • Assist in preparing bundles for hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Handle client enquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Attend client meetings, take instructions, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Maintain excellent client care and ensure compliance with service-level expectations.
  • Assist with representation at County Court hearings (where appropriate for NQ level).
  • Support mediation, negotiation, settlement discussions, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Ensure accurate time recording and file management.
  • Comply with the firm’s risk management, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to departmental business development where appropriate (e.g., articles, networking).

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified Solicitor (0–2 PQE) with completed seats in civil litigation, dispute resolution, or a related area.
  • Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advocacy experience in lower courts.
  • Experience using case management systems.
